Hiya peeps:mrgreen:

I thought I’d put these pic’s up last year but obviously I hadn’t, seeing some recent reports on the place reminded me so here’s a few more if you fancy a look:)...

It’s a great place to visit, I thoroughly recommend it! I first went on a lovely summers morning in June, but never found the mortuary which is a must for all hospital splores don’t you agree, so I went back in October with Jimba, Ruby, Skankypants and his mate for another butchers.

A little history....

The original hospital building opened in 1890, and it has had several extensions since that date, including the 1920,s Art Deco building and some later additions in the 50’s. A local businessman bought the property when it closed in 1993 and it has been left vacant ever since, just the way we like it...giving the paint plenty of time to peel.

:mad:However recently Nottingham Council are making plans to purchase the site that it calls “a blot on the landscape” well all councils are renowned for having no taste, fiddling expenses, ripping off drivers, going on ridiculously expensive team building exercises, spewing out bureaucratic politically correct policies, double standards, hypocrisy, corruption, greed, covering their arses, tasteless planning and building new “blots on the landscape” so hopefully their arse scratching and pen pushing takes a lot longer as I’d like another trip up there sometime:mrgreen:

It’s a relatively small hospital but with lots of goodies:), it probably requires more than one visit if you’re the kinda person that faffs about like me;)

Behind the main hospital building if you walk through some narrow overgrown pathways are some smaller buildings which have yet to be explored:)

When I first got into the hospital I found myself in a very darkened corridor with little natural daylight, it took a few seconds for my eyes to adjust. I could see brighter spots of light at either ends as the sun was coming up...but they seemed miles away and the darkest part seemed to last forever!... I didn’t want to use a torch as if sec were about they may see the reflections. I don’t mind admitting that I did have a freaky few seconds,:confused:I try not to think about things too much when i get like that as I can easily do me own head in, sometimes your imagination can be your biggest fear:icon_evil

Reception area???...the phone, the trays of paperwork, the big window...all the clues were just waiting to be found;)

Physiotherapy bars and exercise ball...such tiny little desks though. Maybe after sitting on them weeny chairs and doing your back in whilst banging your knees on the desks you can stumble over to the bars and learn to walk again

The chairs have become little tourist attractions that move freely around the place:mrgreen:

These would be great in a shared house, just imagine how much food you can fit in them, you can have a draw each or cheese on the top and meat at the bottom or even bunk beds like them little sleeping pods you get on the street in Japan....seems just a shame not to make use of them don't you fink?

Well thanks for flicking thru and take care folks;)

Great set there prettyvacant71....nice to see more externals on this place than usual....is a great site.....like our group shot together...
