Situated in the small town of Lancaster. Lancaster Moor hospital was Lancashire’s first county asylum. It opened as the County Lunatic Asylum for the County Palatine of Lancaster in 1816 but later renamed Lancaster Moor hospital. It was designed by Thomas Standen and AV Kershaw At any one time it could hold up to 3200 patients it closed in the 199o’s. The building is grade II listed and currently being redeveloped to create housing, something that is becoming common with other former asylums like West Park, High Royds and St Johns in Lincoln.

Great looking place, sadly I doubt I'll get to see this one for myself.

Nicely done mate.

I am rather envious considering the recent fail and apparent locked up nature of this place now :(
