It's been a year or so since I last went and got busted. But a change of camera and a wider lens meant that I wanted to go back and get some shots that I can be happy with. Wanted to get a few more sites in the Lincoln area done and had a look at rauceby asylum which wasn't my cup of tea. While it looks like work is being done to St J's it's only been confined to the external to the building as far as I can see.

Built under the name Lincolnshire County Lunatic Asylum in 1852, set in 120 acres of grounds. In 1940, female patients were transferred around the UK to make way for an emergency department for the war effort. The newly established NHS took control in 1948 and by the 1960’s it was known as St John’s Hospital. The Hospital was closed in 1989, since then it has been sold and gradually been demolished to make way for housing leaving just the main building.

Nice building and good clear shots thanks. Looks like the bleedin' pikeys have had the cast iron ballustrades!

Excellent photography, especially the one off the corner of the building with the frost and glint of the sun. Good work, thanks for this

I used to live in Lincoln and used to walk my dogs round the grounds of St Johns Asylum in Bracebridge Heath in Lincoln. Even though there was bit of an eerie feeling it was an incredible place!

These photos are brilliant.
