I went to visit my mate who lives in nowheresville, Lincolnshire, and on the way stopped to visit a couple of sites. Our primary target was sadly not accessible, so made a slight detour to look at Ferdowse clinic and Nocton hall military hospital.

I didn’t get to see the famous ivy covering the outside of the building which is so prominent on previous summer reports, as this was a winter visit.
I was quite amused that considering it was a clinic for recovering alcoholics, there were several empty beer cans strewn across the building!

It was pitch black in some places - dont forget your torches if visiting.

Nice to tick this one of the list, as I missed out on a visit last year.

Explore with Miz Firestorm, and thanks for access! :)

Built as Heckington Manor in the 19th centuary, it was converted into a residential unit for people with alcohol problems in the 80’s under the name Ferdowse Clinic. It was closed in 2003 due to NHS cut-backs.

Thanks for looking :)

It wasn't closed because of NHS cutbacks, it was closed because addiction treatment focus changed and the money was put into other commissioned services.
