What was meant to be my last explore of the year (ended up doing some unpopular abbey the next day on the spur of the moment) was this rather pleasant hospital. It had been on my target list for a long time ever since it popped up on my news feed a long time ago.

Waking up in the early hours of the morning in a nearby hotel with PeterC4, Sonyes, Project Mayhem and Lowri a quick drive to meet up with Ninja Kitten and Perjury Saint before making our way to site.

Being a early start we kind of messed up the the timing a little bit and as we parked up and getting ready to go, a car pulls up behind us and steps a high vis jacket, ahh bollocks, we are busted before we even start.... But no the high vis wanders past the bunch of retrobates fairly oblivious to our activities.

A speedy entry once to the site was made, also a few cheeky thumbs up to passerby's who knew exactly what we were up too, moving in two groups we found entry inside and headed off to a small room for a bit of chat and a relax before the light came up and the adventure would really begin.

This hospital is massive, took me so long to figure out where I was in the building, venturing along alone on the most part as I got seperated from the rest, I thought I was making good progress. Until I realised I had only seen around half by the time we only had little over an hour left of good light. It was a excellent explore and with the best company you could get.

Once again, thank you everyone for the help on this one, you guys know who you are.

Thanks for looking

So let me understand this. The NHS is strapped for cash. So much so that it leaves an MRI scanner, a CT scanner, X-ray, fluoroscopy and nuclear medicine suites in place? And we are supposed to believe that there isn't enough money in the system to keep essential services running?

No politics please,.

For the most part that equipment will have been leased and will have been replaced by new leases for up to date equipment at the new hospital.

So it will be the responsibility of the owning company to decommission and remove it, although it'll probably get written down for scrap, after all who wants to re-lease a heavily used old model scanner?

Quality set bud! Was a great weekend all round, and we'll have to make sure there's another one soon ;)
