Any ideas about the current state of it? Security wise that is. I haven't been in there for a couple of years now and am starting to get dangerous urges to get up there again. I went for a wander round the perimeter last October(halloween nite) with the wife and kids to scare them (it worked btw). Security were on us pretty quickly, got a bit stroppy, had the dogs out, made us turn our torches off then shone theirs in our faces, even with the kids there!!!!:icon_evil , and we were on the public footpath. But still I want to go back. Is this normal?

Nothing unusual in wanting to go back, I dont see Cane Hill security as really being anything particularly special. Certainly not in comparison to other locations, I generally think there is alot of myth around them that serves to deter explorers.

I havent been since Late 2005 Largely because i've been busy with other new projects but I have never written off the prospect of going back. Given that I've been many times already and have seen the vast majority of the site I'm not in any real hurry to return there are other places that demand my attention more! ;)

Has there been any more moves to either strip it out or to get permission to build on the site?

I'd say the security is well above that of any other abandoned hospital site.
Nothing's impossible though, even I managed to get into it.

not much news really.
orange are thinking of moving their mobile mast off the water tower roof and that's it...

Well I think there's certainly a couple of us who are getting the "itch" to go back. I'll pm you about it and we can discuss the plan. Anyone else interested get in touch.
