Well this place has been done to death. It was pretty trashed by the time I got here. However it was still a nice lil mooch. Quite a few gadgets left about and surpisingly I bumped into a quite a few people too!!

Best ive seen from here, this is on my list an has been for awhile, but your photos may have convinced me even more than ever, that fireplace shot is stunning!

Wow! Thanks it has been covered well many times. The fireplace shot was actually done with on camera flash!! I gave up with the torch. I hope it is not in too bad condition if you choose to go.

I dont recognise any of the shots from this place tbh. Nice to see a different side to DRI. I too did enjoy it here but it was even more thrashed when i visited in April

Blimey that has gone downhill, still you got some damn fine shots out of it! :)
Thanks for taking the time to share :)

The old part of the hospital is full of interesting Victoriana, like the fireplace and plaster mouldings on the walls & ceilings.

You have found some lovely parts to shoot, ive not seen them bits before so that's good to see:mrgreen:

I can't help feeling ive missed the boat on that one, I went down there early 2012 it hadn't been touched it was perfect, hence I cudnt get in...a few months later the trashing started, not seen a place go down hill so quickly, deliberate vandalism not even the metal thieves did that:(

Great Pics, especially of the interior of the old house.
This building is called Wilderslowe House and it is grade 2 listed and has been many things in its time, including a nurses home and admin offices.
It stands at the base of the tower block, from the top of the tower block I noticed that its roof had been very badly damaged by metal thieves removing all of the lead, hence the interior water damage.
I have been into this building many times in a previous job and I was always fascinated by its grand interior.
This building is staying when they redevelop the site but its going to need a lot of work now.
