A recent evening visit to this old Asylum. A place that has been on the radar for a while but for various reasons has always been a tricky one.

One part has been converted for a number of years, the other part was partially in use by the NHS up until last year (I think). Demolition / conversion is now underway on the second part which in turn has opened it for explorers, although unfortunately some parts such as the bath house are still not accessible.

The accesible parts of the place are pretty empty although still in pretty good condition and it has a real cool main hall with a nice wooden beam ceiling. In some ways it reminded me of Fairmile prior to conversion.

Demo has been moving quickly and the pikey's have also been active on site stealing radiators etc, there were a couple on site whilst we were there but ran off when they heard us mooching about.

It was only a short visit and due to running out of light I didn't get a massive amount of photos, with the place being pretty close to me a swift return is on the cards.

Visited with MD, Goldie and a few others from Leicester whose names I didn't get.

Looks cool that, bit clean for my liking although you can't be too picky with asylums these days...

Brilliant set, the hall is great, but loving the split corridor shot also!
Thanks for sharing :)
