Flat Holm Part 2
Now surrounded by 5' nettles & brambles getting in was fun.
Some History taken from Wiki
This building was described in The Lancet as a "pavilion" comprising two six-bed wards and a nurse's room. The Flat Holm sanatorium is unique in being the only Victorian isolation hospital sited on a British offshore island. The last patient to die in the hospital, a victim of bubonic plague, was cremated on the island at the end of the 19th century. The hospital finally closed in 1935 and has remained derelict since.

This area had a range & little room at each end, so maybe it was the kitchen?
Perhaps one of the rooms was the Nurses accommodation?

Thanks for looking.

Bloody Hell Redd, That looks a bit dodgy even without five foot nettles to navigate, worth the effort though, I enjoyed looking, Thanks

I like this. A nice tiled floor there.

The standard Victorian 'Quarry Tile' floor, a must have in all kitchens and sculleries of that era. Your Victorian hallway was always done in a more decorative pattern of tile.

The location of this place serves as a reminder as to how scared our forebears were of plagues and unknown fevers. We own much to medical advances and antibiotics - lets hope we stay ahead of the 'bugs' in the future!
