    Default Sunnyside Asylum

Hi everyone. Here's a short video I knocked together from some drone footage taken at Sunnyside Asylum.

It's a huge complex made up of some lovely old buildings, sadly now falling into decay. Bought recently by a local developer but no planning permission as yet. It's a lot to take on (cost and development wise) and my hopes aren't high that it will be restored, as other buildings within the area which have been bought by others and subsequently left to rot can testify. Time will tell though. I hope you like the video.

A nice video with a drone but Sunnyside is huge. Here's a link to the hospitals website with before photos.

The video is nice! What a huge place.
What drone did you use, looks like a phantom to me?

Also for some reason the video has 8 minutes of black screen?

I used a Phantom 4. Still getting used to it and first time using FCP so apologies for the 8 mins of black screen which I honestly hadn't noticed. Must've done something silly in the app. Unfortunately that was enough to attract the attention of a troll so I've removed the vid and I'll re-share it once I have the corrected version.

Should be fixed now without all the black at the end. Sorry about that.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
