Thought I would start off by posting about the my very first explore. This is the start of my love for exploring. The pics are taken on my mobile ( before i went and purchased a camera).
This was to East Fortune Hospital in East Lothian.

East Fortune Hospital was primarily used as a TB Sanatorium from 1922 until WW2 when the RAF took over- the Museum of Flight is right next to this place. From 1956 until the closure in 1997 the Hospitals main use was to look after people who were deemed as mentally handicapped.

This explore is exceptionally easy to get into. There is an entrance through a metal fence which was the way that we entered only to see that there is a small cul de sac of houses at the other end that lead straight into the grounds. People from the area seem to walk there dogs regularly around the grounds.

This explore is a big one so make sure that you have given yourself alot of time- the place is made up of lots of outbuilding and houses tucked away behind overgrown foliage. The building are full of old hospital supplies and some obscure items.

The buildings are covered in signs warning you of asbestos so to be safe I would take a mask.

Thanks and enjoy :)

Good report. This is one of the few places up here that feels like going round some of the big asylums down south, back in the day. Did you see the poof?

That is certainly the best doctored sign out there, I found it hilarious when I saw it in person.
