Another day at Sunnyside. This was my first success here. Another squeeze, not as bad as Booth House, but more broken glass getting through my gloves into my hands and adding to my collection of ripped jackets.

I wasn't expecting much from here. The damage to the roof was an automatic give away that it would be a mess inside. But I was very pleasantly surprised. Lots of lovely decay and original features intact.

Can't find any info about this part online I am afraid! And like Booth House, I have never seen any pics from here before so I was very happy to get inside.

You can never underestimate the level of some people's weirdness. That is a seagulls wing tied up with string! Wtf!?

Thanks for looking!

Those are great shots of a dereliction, liked the Belfast and the wing is from a juvenile herring gull, as you said weird, Thanks

Shame to see it in this state, when we had a look around Booth House before the rest of Sunnyside closed, it was tired and damp but still reasonably wind & watertight. Then I gather that a gang of E. European metal thieves travelled up from the Glasgow area and stole all the lead from the roof…

Yeah I remember reading about that. I'm sure Angus Council forked out quite a bit on the repairs to make it watertight again. Did the same thing not happen with the main building not long after it closed? Maybe it was the main they forked out for, still they have been in and salvaged their trinkets from everywhere now it seems. They left a neat pile of batteries and smashed PIRs in one other building!

Amazing work here, some proper decay in this part of the asylum. Good effort in seeing it all too, seems its not been covered like this for a very long time.
