Having seen Harperbury with Simon in 2006 and looking at recent reports from other people I knew roughly what to expect. Since my last visit many of the windows had been boarded up, leaving areas in darkness.

The site is comprised of a number of spread out single storey villas, many of which have had roof tiles removed. As a result, many of the building interiors are badly water damaged.

Visited with Jaff Fox and Valan.

No tiles

This building had the barely recognisable remains of two padded rooms inside, with just framework and a vinyl covered padding on the floor. The villa with the in tact padded room had been sealed off.

You know it's so sad to see Harperbury Hosp' end up like so many other places of a similar nature,I often wonder what happened to the Souls that were Patients there, an ex girlfriend of some years used to work there as a RMN, they the Health People flogged Shenleigh Hosp of for just a Million for a quick "Buck" when it and the grounds it stood in were worth so much more than that, Cell Barnes to I've not been there for years, reside in Ireland but they'll all end up being "Posh Apartment" that nobody except if you've a few bob in your pocket can afford.

Regards,

Dave

Harperbury Hospital

Thanks for posting these pictures! I used to work in a private psychiatric hospital, three of the patients there were former residents of Harperbury. Both they and the relatives that visited them whilst they were there were full of stories about how horrific it was...

great to see this location documented, as it is a local one to me, and one that i have been meaning to visit. just wondering if anyone knows how much of the site is still in use, and also if it is easy to gain entry to?
thanks

If its local it should be easy for you to have a look ;) Although I can say that demo is commencing and although I havent been there myself lately a few buildings have now gone :(
