I went off for a lone roadtrip mainly out of boredom. The bigger explores didn't really work out, but this place made a reasonable back-up
The history has been covered elsewhere and better, but this place has had quite a few uses since being a hospital, including a haulage company yard (lorry tyres and parts scattered all over) and a hotel.

Heading inside the first ward block, it looks pretty stripped apart from the tractor tyre

The buildings are pretty dilapidated

Sturdy wooden doors frame the non-safety glass - obviously this place has been closed long enough to escape any NHS upgrading (maybe even pre-NHS?)

Some stellar peeling paint here

One of the old ward blocks is fulled with old tat like this, a long-forgotten 'Crossbull' arcade machine

This lorry speedometer runs up to 80MPH, must be from the pre-restriction days

I did look in the hotel section, but my can't-be-bothered-ness had set in by then and all the photos came out blurry

Nice pics :) in the 3rd picture, is it me (or the angle) but is the doorway starting to fall in on itself? The left side looks crooked

Like I said, the place is pretty dilapidated. Might just be my jaunty angle though. I know the brickwork above this doorway was crumbling

Good to see this place is still standing … Foz wondered whether demo was imminent. Liking the Lucas Keinzle tachograph in the last photo – my old man's lorries were fitted with these about 20 years ago. If you open it up, there might still be a disc inside. Most tacho's are digital now, AFAIK.

Nice photos, reminds me of Hellingly that place does for some reason (brhh) Still loving the GX? :D

I know what you mean about the Hellingly comparison, but this place is 10 million times smaller!
The GX is doing great, I still haven't quite got the hang of it but I'm getting there. How are you getting on with yours?

It's a mish mash of various things, but a nice and easy little wander. As for the stonework, this bit's my fave
