Doras Exploras went on another ramble today and we found this......
its part of the giants grave yard at briton ferry docks, which is now very active although it was shut when we were around, nothing we found indicated the imense history this place has as a ship breakers but was a cool place to visit all the same.
we think the bit we got in to was some kind of HGV re fueling bay once apon a time, lots of pumping gear, smell of derv and a gas leak in one bit.
this is the site its tucked between the docks and the neath canal, lots of dog walkers around
this is the room with the gas leak, looked like a mains tap inside, didnt want to take pics with the flash for the obvious
to the left and over a little metal fence was this thing, no idea what it was, maybe some kind of industrial extractor unit?
this is inside one of those big sheds at the end obviously some work has re started at this end of the dock
imposing view at the entrence, this is the old bridge btw
nice leaving shot.
found one or two more bits we're going to have a look at, what looked like an old hulk of a truck and maybe th eremains of a lock keepers house near the admin block.
about 5 years ago i had a poke round the wharf and went in the abandoned office blocks, untouched and derelict, what a find it was, lots of stuff just scattered about, didnt think to take any pics at the time, well who would be interested init, did have a look and its all be revamped,
hope you like the pics got more on our fliker page
