Once again Doras Exploras have been on a mission to find new photo's for your viweing pleasure.
As we were walking around we saw in the distance... a giant tower! Brunels' Tower!

this is Isambard Kingdom Brunels tower and dock basin. built in 1861, the docks helped expand the town of neath to new hights. now the heavy industry is leaving Brunels tower still dominates the land scape and thanks to the town councils £70,000 cash investment the tower has been saved and restored to its former glory hopefully for another 150 years, in the pipe line is a plan to turn the dried basin into a marina in time for its 200th birthday.

we werent able to get inside, but hopefully we will sometime soon! keep an eye out!

Ooh, some nice bits and pieces there. Interesting to see the remains of the rail and pumping gear.
Love the pic of the wooden posts. Good stuff. :)

Presumably the tower originally housed a hydraulic accumulator, and the wooden posts are in fact the remains of a timber groyne.
