After seeing recent reports from here, Shadow myself and Jesus (not from this forum) decided to pay this place a visit.

This is possibly the most impressive industrial building I've been in to date. Everything is on a massive scale, it has two of the largest gantry cranes I've ever seen, as well as an impressive array of pipes, control rooms and big industrial equipment. I could have spent all day in this place - sadly we couldn't as there were other places we wanted to go.

1. Gantry cranes outside, these are nothing compared to the ones inside the building!

2. Our goal looms closer . . .

3. Success, we made it into the belly of the beast, and my what a beast she is!

6. Pipes pipes pipes everywhere!

8. Mind yourself, there's no safty rail here!

9. The two cranes really are an engineering masterpiece.

11. We didn't realise how high we'd climbed until we had to decend again, it's deceptive because everything is so big.

12. My favourite pic from the day (for some reason)

Thanks for looking,

Maniac.

That`s a very impressive place....The colours on your pics are great...nice one

That's a huge site  is it recently shut down  it seems to be without any damage or vandalism.

I have been here, but only around the outbuildings, I think the site is quite well protected (without going into detail) and it was closed down about a year or so ago. I would love to get inside this main bit. PM me to tell me what security is like please :)

Thanks for the comments people.

It is a huge site, we didn't see all of it as there were other places we wanted to go that day and time was pressing on. I think it closed a few years ago and is due for redevelopment, but everything's been left simply because there's no where else for it to go - it's all so big! There is damage and vandalism in places - although not much, just a few broken windows etc.

Wow, impressive indeed! I honestly don't know how you could have walked about that high without any kind of railing...those pics made my toes curl!:lol:
Fabulous site and photos, Maniac. :)

I quite like the colour in that last picture, :)

Did you venture over to the pipe forming and concrete casting building?
