Unfortunately, unlike most industrial sites in Scotland - the Carrongrove papermill lies mainly demolished, less than 4 years after closing. The one huge part that remains is the coal fired power station that would have supplied power to the mill. It is currently being prepared for demolition and its days are numbered.

A great explore, despite once being part of a much larger site.

Visited with Kate, Lost, Jaff Fox and Havoc.

Nice one for doing it in broad daylight, went with a couple of friends last month but never really got in due to being a bit apprehensive about being within line of sight of the security hut :)
 
Superb find! Nice big powerstation there, I take it the turbine has been removed well before this explore? Shame:(
 
It's a lovely wee power station, isn't it? The asbestos sheeting has extended a bit further than last month..
 
Reminded me a bit of Inverkip in some ways this place. :)
