Had our eye on this one for a while, after finally being brave enough we put on our '' nicest innocent girl '' faces and asked at the security gate if we could have a nosey about. Anyway, to cut a long story short we were whisked off to the site manager who it turns out is into photography himself !
He said he was more than happy for us to look and gave us a full tour of the building and the rest of the site... Very decent chap !
Not much history, just a massive Aspestos clad building that was a storage unit for Alstom until being sold off and has been empty for a few years.
Its pretty big in there and he let us go up to the top of it too !

Looks like you girls have been very busy, nice pics! Good of the guy to show you around, love his disguise.

Laura, you are a busy girl...sure hope you aint using your feminine charm to get round the security guards...if so,pencil me for your next tour!

The lack of employment at the min is giving me plenty of free time to 'persue other interests...'
Quite handy tho, means i can squeeze in the sites ive had my eye on but havent had time to do !
As for the bloke showing us round, we cant thank him enough ! He went well out of his way and spent a good hour putting up with us asking stupid questions and poking our heads into the most horrific parts of the site.We went in the social club and offices too.
He gave us an e-mail address too incase we need to come back for some more too !

Cool stuff, I used to work near here. Had a look at some parts during that time, but a lot was not accessible

The man did say some bits we wouldnt be able to photograph because the MOD have a unit there, he did say he will see about getting us in a weird nuclear testing thing there, its supposedly 200 ft high with a 200ft drop down inside it. He did explain what they do in it but i was busy eyeing up the next building so it went in one ear and out the other ! Will be good if i can pull it off tho... :)

Awesome looking place and good pictures too.
I just wish all security guards were as understanding as him.
