We'd noticed this pottery earlier this year during a previous trip and were keen to get back to take a look inside.
Nelson Pottery was founded in 1885 and by Elijah Cotton on the site of an earlier pottery. The Earthenware and China Manufacturer specialised in making jugs and finally stopped production in 1981.
Since then the site has been used by a number of smaller pottery companies, and in the last few years parts were used as a business park.
Given the tendency to flatten everything in the area I imagine the local council will have most of the buildings demolished in the near future.
