Now this was a right gem. Right up my bag being industrial too. Scotty and I's 3rd explore today.
We were overwelmed by the sheer size of the site and the amount of stuff left.

Cracking colours and bit of machinery. We spent 3 hours here. Could of spent more but we had already been up 16 hours.

Still working around this in a clockwise circle gave us loads to look at. Lovely workshop with well random things including a very scary home made furnice this for gawd knows what!!
A car and of course a supermarket trolly were also in the mix. Anyhow, moving on to the plant proper there was just so much it was hard to take it all in.

The place was covered in black dust from the coke. It was everywhere.

It reminded me of Pyestock with the pipes running through the plant and lots of control rooms and the like. I was in awe.

Very nice indeed.

What sort of condition is the MG in?

You can fix it. cause its in stored its not in to bad of a condition.
No idea what the engine is like.

we are deffo going back. its just a nice site with so much to see.

That site is massive, had two separate 4hr visits there and I've not come across that MG! Think I've barely touched on half the site, it really is that big.

Great pics, good use of ultrawide. ;)

The MG's up the top end of the site in the engineering workshop. Very close to civilisation across 20yds of open ground so it's a bit of a dodgy visit.

Well worth it though, loads of lathes etc in great nick and the stores are almost fully stocked too.

Reminds me, I need another visit.

Great report chaps, and an excellent site. Is this the place where there is one of the electric locomotives on it's side? I have seen a photo a while back but have struggled to find it since? Don't suppose you found that and took a shot did you?

Really great report.

Nice photos there both of you. I visited this place about 2 months ago, and it really is vast. You don't get industry on that scale very often in the UK.

You managed to visit the other side of the works from where I mostly was on my visit, looks like I may have to go back at some point as there's a lot to see over there by the looks of it.

Did you climb the coal silo?

Did think about it got a couple of stairs up and better of it when you could see the steel reinformance in the steps and bits of random conceret ever where.

You should have continued, the stairs are much more solid than they look. The view from the top is amazing, really makes you appreciate the size of the place.
