Stewartby Brickworks July 09

Down in the area on business so decided to go and take mooch around this vast & impressive site. I was surprised to see that so much of the equipment has already been removed & demolition of the larger more modern sheds is taking place at the rear of the complex.
I think I covered most of the site leaving the chimney gantry's till last until the torrential downpour that left me sitting on a wet car seat for the next 170 miles back home detered me somewhat!

Also above the kilns, I guess this is where the the vent cap lifting chaps spent their idle time!




Each of the end kilns were linked to kilns on the other side

All of the rest rooms looked quite relaxing with 3 piece suites and more page 3 pinups than you could shake a stick at!
