The treatment plant was opened in 1934 and served the capital of the island for over 75 years. It was de-commissioned sometime towards the end of 2007 - early 2008, and replaced with a new treatment works to meet new quality standards. It's like walking into a time machine, everything is untouched and left as it was, except the laboratory which has been stripped.

There is a planning application for development of the site.

Nice work there, looks like a great explore and I love the little human touch at the end, it's always good to find little things like that.

Excellant stuff Ghost, refreshingly different too.You must have sole Urbex rights there on the IOM!

Interesting place – particularly like the cross section drawing.

I do, it's great, lots of places are untouched :D

...though on the downside I do all my exploring alone, I have yet to meet one person interested! I even searched this site and it seems I'm the only one. Luckily I don't mind going places on my own.
