Steetley Magnesite was opened in 1937 to produce magnesium from seawater, it houses one of the worlds largest settling tanks, and this is the main focal point of the site along with the chimney. There is currently a planning application for the site to build 500 homes, but this is on hold due to rare birds nesting on the site.
As you are aware, the site is basically a GIGANTIC pile of rubble, but it's really fun to explore, with loads of culverts and underground rooms to surprise yourself with. The skies on my photos were actually natural - it was that pre-storm sky that makes HDR unnecessary.
Visited with LIO112 , Thompski, and Krypton (and his friend)
Thanks to LIO112 for driving :)
Many thanks to Krypton for telling us where everything was :)

What were you doing in Hartlepool? That;s ages from derby

Nice pics, it looks really interesting for what it is. Picture seems to have resized badly in some of them though...

We fancied a random journey to a random location, stopping at Thorpe Marsh on the way, do we need an excuse?
My batch image resizer is squiffy at the best of times, but it does look a bit pixelated, I can't be bothered to reupload though, I'll set the quality higher next time ;)

Indeed, I thought you said something about being anonymous. Ah well, I'll edit it.
Thanks :)

Lol "Native Tour Guide". Native to the rubble of Steetley. I myself have ambitions, to take my many children on a scenic stroll, through toxic wasteland!

And the stroll through the wasteland, i was reffereing to the people you were walking fastly away from, And i wasnt bothered about them at all  Guess im used to it in Hartlepool.

Images sorted. If anyone finds problems with my other reports, tell me and I'll sort them (unless they are rubbish then I won't)
