I actually visited this little industrial gem way back in June but haven't put a proper report up on here for some unknown reason
As I was staying in Redhill it would have been rude to not pay a visit to La Porte Earthworks. Used to mine Fullers Earth out of the hill (giving the site it's other name) for many uses, the last of which was cat litter. This place tends to be overlooked as not the best place but it's an absolute corker. I'm itching to go back to get covered in dust and mud and oil and other stuff. Since I was there a new fence has gone up but it's not stopped people getting in. The site is made up of a burnt-out social club, a modern office/lab block and an older smaller laboratory which has suffered badly at the hands of nature and chavs, plus of course the main factory building
The older laboratory, a lovely building shame about the lack of a roof
The social club being taken over by nature after the fire, pretty uninspiring place
Office/laboratory building, another uninspiring place done over by chavs
Then on to the main attraction.....the amount of dust and dirt in here is incredible so a mask is advised
on to the roof and round the back....
hope to be making a return soon...
