    Default Sandy Mill

    Site Type: Cotton Mill

Hazards: Asbestos, Broken glass, fire damaged floors, sudden drops at height!

    Status: Derelict

Recommended?: If your in the area

    Webpage: Sandy Mill

One of many similar mills dotted around Manchester, some have more interest than others. Sandy Mill was pretty well empty internally and has suffered some fire damage centered around the lift shaft. Definitely an interesting explore even if just for the rooftop views across the whole town, very nice!

    Our approach view:

    Hi,
The PM system is probably best for that kind of request, as rules say location reports are to be kept factual, if you do go, however, you're welcome to post anything you learn about the location here.

The photos are recent, and it is possible that it's still there I suppose.

    Regards,
    James Hall.

noooooooooo, not barratt homes, little tiny boxes that they call homes. grrrr!!!, im surprised they didn't turn it into upmarket apartments. don't particularly like them, but id much rather see a lovely building like that, turned into something nice looking than knocking down and building boxes instead. grrrrrrrrr!!!

Pity, it looks like it was a lovely building.

    :( Sal

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
