The Llanddulas Jetty is located off the seafront at Llanddulas, Conwy County, North Wales. There are two jetties both used for loading crushed limestone (that is quarried in the Llanddulas Quarries) onto boats for export to various destinations

after the very dodgy access onto this jetty i made my way down very slowly but surely but 3/4 of the way later i noticed the hand rails and side supports were non existent anymore...

now faced with the task of carrying on or turning back i crouched down and got under the conveyor belt...this decision wasnt going to be easy

anyway after a few minutes i stood the wind was picking up now and it was raining would i either get blown off or fall through in the drink

sod it ill carry on...

about 2 metres down the floor started to get really bad with wooden beams creaking and some not even bolted on the decision was made to turn back and go explore the silo and get out of the rain even if i had a life jacket on id prob still have turned back

id highly recommend a visit to this place as its bloody huge but people be very very carefull on this thing

ill let my pics do the talking..

thanks to kevsy21 for watching my arse on this one..

Given the fact that photos rarely do total justice to a places auspicious nature,I can only imagine that this was a pretty scary affair.I have been too the top of a few big places, but this takes on a whole new dimension,I have no surprise that there are no pictures from the end of the pier,I wouldn't have ventured out there for money, let alone a picture.
Congrats upon a great venture.

Superb photos, Georgie, and absolute kudos for getting along as far as you did. Good stuff.

Just a note for the future...when you go on an explore somewhere with someone else on the same day, please make sure that you all put your separate pics/write-up on the same report, rather than two different threads. Cheers. :)

cheers m8 yehh it dont really do it justice youd have to be standing on it to get the full feel of it...but ill have some pics of the end soon im just going to go for it maybe armed with a life jacket lol

not being one to be beaten by this jetty i fancied another crack at it so met up with the cat crept in at gwrych castle and away we went

going off my last report i thought it was 3/4 of the way i got however it wasnt more like half way

theres a control room for the side conveyors and then a bit past that your at the end with what i like to call a brucie bonus...a little hatch at the end which led to a sort of viewing platform and right under the jetty itself

again as before stepping lightly was the way forward down here it surprisingly was ok after we got past the control room but before that made for some dodgy moves and trying not to look down through the holes was quite hard

explored with the cat crept in

starting off where i left last time...well just before to be honest

So you made it to the end, wicked stuff, hats off to to your intrepid nature,it looks like every step of the way was fraught with danger.
Once again some super cool photos.

wow, thats quite awesome!!

does anyone know why its just been left why hasn't it been demolished? not that I'm encouraging the demo of this jetty, its just that it seems a bit weird (or has that already been covered and I have completely missed it :s )

Shakey

Shakey

Just before we left that day we bumped into some demolition men, who where checking out the site.
Expect it to be demolised soon, but the jetty is rotten,so maybe the best thing is to get rid of it.
