Dullatur Colliery is just north of Cumbernauld, Scotland.

Owned by The Cadzow Coal Company, the colliery opened in 1935 and closed in 1964.
At it's peak it employed 281 men.

I didn't have as much time as I'd have liked to scout around but hope to go back soon.

If anyone fancies a trip, it's here....

Interesting – do you reckon these were offices or stores perhaps, rather than pithead baths or production buildings?

My decent camera ran out of juice shortly after the start (as I'd been using it all day) so I had to
switch to a little P&S I had. Thats why I'm planning a return visit to give the place a proper once over.

There are also several HUGE bings nearby to the east.

That building is exactly the same style as the one at the former Shireoaks Colliery near Worksop. :) This one looks great in the middle of nowhere as if just plonked there. :) Excellent pics mate, I like the inside of the building too.

Looking forward to seeing more pics from here. :)

No sign of any spoil anywhere - maybe thye carted it all away. You wouldn't really know it was a mine building.
I've seen similar buildings associated with coal mines in the Midlands. Maybe it was a workshop, store or contained power plant.

very nice anyway.

Nice, typical NCB style, although loke most of Britai's coal buildings, raped and pillaged to within an inch of its life. Thanks for posting it.
