I was up in Scotland this weekend visiting relatives in Paisley and spotted this place whilst heading for our hotel. Although I didn’t intend to do any exploring I couldn’t resist popping back here for a look around before we headed back south. I didn't have a lot of time so only managed an hour or so on site.

Although it looks pretty much untouched from the front, sadly it has suffered quite a bit of damage on the inside.

Not too much has been left behind, although there were some bits and bobs littered about the place.

Balfour Kilpatrick is part of the Balfour Beaty Civil Engineering Group.
They provide electrical & mechanical engineering services to the construction industry.
This site contains a cluster of buildings one of which was housed by Lounsdale cables which was the electrical division of Balfour Kilpatrick.
I have no idea when the site was built but it closed in 2008 when they relocated to the nearby Hilington Industrial Estate.

Here are some pictures.
