Had another Monday off and suggested this site to Landie Man as one that I had wanted to go back to for some time, and after a fairly eventful trip in a Land Rover with no windows - cue me eating a fair amount of the hair on my head - and us somehow missing the M40/M25 junction :)confused:) we made it to the rusting hulk of La Porte Earthworks. And my, how it has changed since my first visit back in June last year. Pikeys are slowly stripping out everything, and the place is generally a much bigger mess than it was last year which is a real shame.

The history has been done many, many times before so I will just crack straight on with the pics.

ta for looking, more pics to be found here

Those have got to be some of the best and most comprehensive pics I've seen from the site. Great to see some good exteriors...there's loads more there than I realised.
Good stuff. :)

excellant shots you have a wide angel lens? i only have a started camera so mine wasn't as good, great work

Cheers:) as for the lens - nope, they are all shot on a Fujifilm Finepix A400, compact jobby, except the panorama which came off a Sony Ericsson C510!

People seem to be surprised at how good the pics off it are, but it all comes down to how you use it (and the fact I have had it nearly 4 years!). Seems to prove you don't need a mega expensive camera to get good pics, although it does struggle in low light scenarios which can be a bit of a bugger.

Nice images Mooks, I am suprised you were able to function correctly after the Landrover experience.

I once drove to France in a 90 pickup in the winter. Took about 14 hours and when I fell asleep in the armchair on arrival my mates said I looked like Stephen Hawking.

Did you two get to see the old labs nearby? They really are worth seeing.

didn't do the labs this time but I saw them last year, apparently the smaller, better one is even more trashed now which is a shame as it used to have all sorts of the equipment left in it:(

The old labs are really trashed now, I'll see if I've got any photos of them from when I was there last week and post up a report showing them if I have!

Good report Mookster glad you got back there again for another look around :)
