Was on my way back from somewhere else when me and my good friend spotted these. We had to take a closer look.
The power station that these were attatched to is long gone. Some very good photo opportunities await.

Two of the towers have had the insides taken out, but still remain standing. Awesome Engineering.

That really is an inspection hatch near the top of the tower.

All for now.

Amazing that those enormous towers stand upon what appear to be such skinny legs! Great pics, I've always been fascinated by cooling towers.

I thought these were being demo`d soon.

People I know of in Derby and the area told me years ago that the place will not be demo'd as birds of prey nest on the towers and they are a protected species so no demo.
I have also been told it is not financially viable to demo as they are in an area surrounded by fields so if a developer wanted to build in this location he would choose a few miles away and save the cost of demo and just build in an empty field/space.
They also went on to say that if the local authorities found the structure(s) to be deemed unsafe then demo will be considered for safety reasons.
Sounded feasible over a few pints after work one evening and I had no reason to disbelieve local knowledge, so make your own mind up, they are here to stay for the forseeable future as far as I am aware, just wait they'll be flattened within six months now I have said this to you all!!
