Lafarge Quarry, Suffolk, June 2010

As far as we can tell, this a first, if that means anything - lol.

This was an abandoned quarry, lost in the middle of the Suffolk countryside. Very little history is known, though it is believed that the quarry closed sometime around 2003/2004. Whilst much of the machinery has been removed, there are one or two relics that provided a lot of interest for us.

Great photos, Good to see old machinery , especially the lister engine.

Great photo's guys any idea what type of stone was quarried here. That drag line is something special

Aggregates, so possibly Road Chippings?
