Norbert Dentressangle closed their Dunstable depot earlier this year after First Quench (ho ho) went belly up thus costing N.D. a very valuable distribution contract. First Quench owned Threshers, Wine Rack, Bottoms Up, Victoria Wine, The Local and Haddows. The majority of the distribution was undertaken in Dunstable and in all about 270 people were made redundant when the site closed.

It seems the site is now being demo-ed and I'm sure will be replaced with housing. As an explore, it's not going to set the world alight, but it did give me a change to have a bit of a play with a vintage film camera. The film was quite a bit past it's sell by date.

Such enormous spaces! Love it. And a really fantastic quality to the shots. I cant quite put my finger on it. Something about the light and a radiance to your shots. I'm lazy and therefore a digital convert but i still think there is something about film that cant be beaten.
Great job. Thanks

Thanks mate. I may have been a bit misleading in my OP. Only 2, 4 and 7 are film, the rest are digital.

Yes, you can see the difference, and there is a lovely feel to them. I reckon they worked really well with the subject matter...as thepetrolhead said, great spaces and looks like a good place for a leisurely mooch. :)

I was once given some old Kodak film (a brand I usually keep clear of), and the blue cast ruined the pics on some of the explores, but enhanced the pics on others...depending on what you take. The worst is Kodak paper, though. Steer clear of that, as it really is crap. :(

Cheers Foxy, shall remember the photo tip. TBH this wasn't really a very relaxed explore and it ended in a fast run, myself being the faster ;-)

I think this was all built at the same time as the AWD Factory.
As the construction looks the same.
I believe this building was part of Renault Trucks before they pulled out of Dunstable.
