This had been on the 'to do' list for a while and we finally got round to exploring it. A decent sized sight with some lovely towering machinery.

Apparently, the plant closed in 1997. Prior to this it had been purchased by La Porte Industries and had produced high quality earth and cat litter. Rumour has it that the unusual site and surrounding landscape actually served as an alien landscape for some Dr Who episodes in the 70s.

A few normal shots and some HDR ones too.

Explored with Flame and a good head for heights. :)

What we found to be a social club for the plant:

Not much going on this week:

Inside the main plant room, the scale apparent by how it dwarfed us:

What we guessed were two types of earth handled at the plant:

Tis a great site this, one of the first places I explored, good pics too

Yeah it's a good site. it's also nice to not come out knee deep in bird dung from somewhere like this.

The warehouse area is totally out of some Guy Ritchie hostage torture scene.
