GEC Alsthom was formed from the merger of the power and transport activities of Compagnie Générale d'Electricité (CGE) and the UK GEC. France’s market was no longer sufficient, so the merger was to enable ALSTHOM to export into Europe. This site manufactured Nuclear energy systems

The site is huge and dates back to war times, quite a lot of it still in use. It was all originally a GEC site but downscaling over the years forced the sale of parts of the site to other various companies. The GEC link with the site was finally ended when in 2001 GEC Alsthom shut it doors and that part now sits in poor condition after being heavily pikied and vandalised.

The former GEC Alsthom social club is also onsite and that too is in poor condition.

Although heavily trashed there are still some good bits knocking about.

i also really enjoyed it here, like u said some parts are really trashed but there is some really nice bits left, did u see all the old nuclear reactor schematics in the offices and all the top secret files and plans still left kicking about, its a great little explore

it looks a fair bit more trashed since i was last in there about 5 months ago. its only just down the road from me but it was somewhere that i completly overlooked. in the offices there were even drawings of sizewell B too and loads of other interesting documentation.
