The 3 story mill was built as a specialised spinning mill for the Staley Mill Company between1851and 1887, they sold it off and all machinery for £13,000 in 1937. During the second world was the mill was used to keep Italian prisoners.

Centrally is the clock tower which is dated 1857, a new engine house was built in 1908, which has white glazed bricks internally.
Ive read that it closed late 80s early 90s.

I was just passing this so thought Id go up and have a nosey,
External shots only - I wasn't really wearing the correct footwear to venture inside, not to mention scaling the fence.
Again, sorry about the crap pics, I have tried editing them to make them somewhat reasonable.

Hi Tom,
No internal's I'm afraid, I was just passing so wasn't really ready, only had a pair of flimsy pumps on so didn't really fancy climbing the fence ect. May return sometime soon and get some though.

Looks an interesting place, looking forward to some internals. I never thought I would read the term 'flimsy pumps' on an urban exploration forum
