A quick visit to BOC gasses in Leeds. A Sunday being the best day to visit, since BOC have a new site adjacent to the old one. Sadly, it appears the new site is only for stockholding of gasses and sales of gas related equipment, where the old site was also involved with the production and bottling of gasses.
The gas most obviously produced here was Helium- Balloon gas. The closure of the plant was announced in 2003 and it was to take place gradually over two years. Helium production was transferred 'down south'. There is also reference online to the production or bottling of Liquid Oxygen (LOX) for military aircraft use at thi site.

Before entry, how about a warning? No grease on oxygen connections. The preffered lubricant for compressor bearings and such? Distilled water.
