I first visited this place in 2009 as part of a photography project at college then twice more. Even after visiting once a week for 3 weeks there was always noticeable changes. This place would take hours to explore and i got some great shots! Over the past year I've been walking past and seeing how its changing so much. The roof has gone completely off a couple of buildings completely that overlooked the courtyard and there's signs that a few people live there. I'd just like to know if anyone has any information on it? I've researched on line many times but i don't seem to find alot :/

Which one?

I'm going to guess you mean the one in Leicester?

This links brings up as the first result some handy info.

The collapsed roof is due to a fire in Nov 2010. Google is your friend, don't be scared :D

The brewery probably existed as early as the 1790's. In the 1820's/30's a Robert Birkley was listed as a brewer, malster & spirit merchant, and by January 1843 Gibbon & Company had taken ownership of the brewery. From the 1840's until the 1890's the brewery ownership changed so many times its really too confusing to post it all here! The All Saints Brewery Company Ltd was registered on 30th September 1896, with offices in Silver Street. It was set up to run the Langmore & Bankart brewery and Watts & Sons wine and spirits. In 1925 the country trade consisted of some 57 pubs and 2 off-licences. By 1926 they had sold the remaining brewing plant for £300 and were letting out part of the brewery. In March 1929 they arranged to withdraw the excise entries as beer dealers at 103 Highcross Street, and in April the entire tied estate of 81 pubs was leased to Ind Coope for 21 years. In October 1946 the Brewery buildings were finally sold.

After the brewery connection ended the buildings were used by various companies. There were a few knitware companies, I remember one called English Rose and another was Colorknit. There was an engineering type company at the back of the site, but unfortunately I cant remember the name now. The Hockey Warehouse had a big chunk of the place, they still exist on Frog Island. The buildings facing the street used to be some arts and craft type place I think, and may have been a beauty salon there too if I remember correctly! Think it was about 2008 when the developers stripped the place out and smashed holes in the listed buildings to make them unstable. After that it was just left and only then did the tramps move in, but Im pretty sure they had cleared off before the fires happened. Although homeless people got the blame for the fires its pretty obvious who did it really, and a real shame they get away with it!

It appears that the chappies at 28 days have already had a good look around ;)

Thanks guys for your help :) I'm new to all this still finding the site a little confusing so i'll try and put up pictures soon :)

Not much left of this place now by the looks of things -last time i was nearby- diggers etc on site knocking parts down from the recent fires

If you mean myself and some of the Leicester lot, I take offence to being called 'chappies at 28 days'

Ahhhh, sorry Goldie, I just assumed that you were a chappie :(

Sometimes it's hard to determine the gender of a person in a photo where the faces are blurred out ;)

Seriously though, there are some quality photos on that report and are you still wearing the Roo's trainers???

Nelly :)

Haha just to confirm I am male, it was the 28 days bit that was offensive! I've not got any roo's, but pairs did vanish so a few people must be walking around Leicester in them

I think they dumped most of the contents of the buildings in the yard and had a bonfire a few years back, including the remaining Roo's! :(

I can't speak for Goldie, but I guess it's not so much rivalry as not wanting to be associated with those rogues.

I like the photos, I take it you use a film camera and a narrow lens? It makes them look like they were taken 40 years ago - in a good way. The deviantART watermarks are a bit annoying though, could you host them elsewhere?
