I stumbled upon this place whilst on a drive in the countryside. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere, slap bang in the middle of quite a large area of woodland.

After doing a bit of research, it seems that this site was undeveloped woodland until sometime in the period 1957-1975, when structures associated with the brickworks were first built. I don't know how long it was operational for but is seems that a number of structures, including a tank and a hopper, were removed sometime around 2004.

Large areas of the site are unoccupied by structures and a fairly large (and possibly quite deep) water filled clay pit is present to the rear of the site. The main structures, which contain the kilns, are present fairly centrally.

This is my first effort on here so please excuse me if this is dull.

Thank you

Hi there,

Thanks for the encouragement. I liked that sign too. It made me chuckle. I wasn't really considering taking a dip anyway but it's nice to be warned :)

You're welcome Easy. Yes random warnings are always handy! Here's one we found on the floor of a house we was exploring

Nice first report, but I'm sorry, I would have had to roll up my jeans and have a paddle, just for the hell of it!!!
