I've always wanted to have a wonder round here, quite a nice site, easy to get to and has the added feature of being inhabited by a giant monkey! I know relativity little about this building however the lakes to the east including Rickmansworth Aquadrome were apparently quarries that provided materials to build the M25, i do not know if this site was used in that process...

thanks for this - know the area quite well.

Think the lakes pre-date the M25, but could be wrong. I'm sure they they were originally gravel quarries though. I think Springwell might be an old chalk quarry.

Popular site as a Doctor Who location. Close to studios and has a desolate feel to it.

Really nice to see this site again. I like your take on it, hinsh. Love the 'Please leave our monkey in peace' sign...haven't seen that before.
Cheers. :)
