Default Frisby Jarvis/Worsted Spinning Mills Leicester June 2011

After a bit of dissapoitment, Discovering GE Thorn Lighting had been demolished, We decided to pay this a visit
Demo has already started, But dosent appear to be recent

Its located on Frog Island, In Leicester, Originally part of the Worsted Spinning Mills Which origniated in 1867, And there was an extension built in 1914
    It closed in 2001
In 2005 It suffered a big fire
It is a grade 2 listed building
At some point plane were published for the basement to be converted into a car park with access ramps, But it was refused

Yeah, The Polish car park people would let us through
So we went through a printer company, They were more than happy to help me do my "College Photography"... ;)

Then when on the roof, We gave a little shout down the the Polish car was people, Just to say "Ha, Look we got in without ur help ;)"

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
