The Britannia works in Atherstone dates back to 1828, at one time the site was split and the buildings were occupied by several different companies, but by 1896 Wilson & Stafford had ownership of all the buildings and the entire site became Wilson & Stafford Hat Makers.

Atherstone was once the home of hat making in the UK and there were five other hat makers registered in Athersone in 1950.

Wilson & Stafford was once the towns biggest employer and hat making continued at the Britannia works until it closed in 1999, at that time it was the last felt hat makers in the UK.

Some of the buildings are listed and conversion work was supposed to start in 2008, however this work is still yet to start.

I have been meaning to visit for a while but have never gotten around to it, it is not too far from me and having just got some new gear I thought I'd nip over for a proper look.
Theres not much left inside but it was a nice easy place to try out my new gear.

Here are some pics, predominantly fisheye, mainly because it’s a new lens and I was enjoying messing with it, all are HDR.

yes nice set mate :), its good to see a place with the some old features like the tiled toilets still intact :)
