Polymer Latex Bromsgrove Jan 2012

Visited solo a couple of times and once with a non member

This site is live and patrolled 24/7.The seccu guy seems a bit lazy..and ate waaaayy too much at christmas... he wizzes round on his bike or car then straight back in his warm little den...suits me fine..I find the place facinating ..chimneys that tower above you and the huge tanks and incredible vats and pipe work are just a maze all over the grounds.. a conveyor belt weaves its way throughout the factory buildings and the grounds..Inside the buildings empty tanks stand alone with pipework still dripping with hardened latex solution,

The factory closed its doors in 2009 due to the recession and at one point the was talk of it reopeneing and production continuing but that now seems to be scrapped and she looks like the doors will remain shut for a while yet... i seem to have a huge amount of photos due to the size of the place but ive just chose a few to give you an idea of what the site looks like...

Very well done, I have wondered about this place recently. I checked it out early last year but it wasn't quite ready then, it looks like I will be going back.

Polymer Latex

This used to be the old Salt Works built by John Corbett who had The Chataeu Impney built for his French wife Marie but sadly she never lived there said she did'nt like it. Then it was taken over by I.C.I. then Uniroyal of late it as become a warehouse. Never looked at it in the same light as you its always been there sometimes you don't aways see whats on your own door step.
