Visited with seffyboy523 & whodareswins. Having driven past this place so many times in the past it was good to finally do it and tick it off the list. A nice little explore if not so amazing.

Vencel Resil make insulation materials for the building industry. They closed two of the four UK factories in June 2009 when the full force of the downturn in the building industry was felt. The Whitecroft site closed with the loss of 13 jobs. The site has sat for sale since the closure, recently the owners have applied for planning permission to convert the site into residential use.

I used to drive a lorry delivering polystyrene boards out of this place in late '87 early ' 88 ....it was a really busy factory in those days ...loads of work.. :) ...guess all things pass...
PS: Don't know if you noticed but right behind the factory is the remains of a cracking little railway viaduct.......it's marked on Wikimapia....

Nice report, really like the 3rd last pic, is that just dust? Think I woulda had my FFP3 on

Great report, in the canteen shot, you can almost see the blokes on their lunch break eating their sarnies/playing cards etc!

Yep we actually walked in from the back and found the missing bridge!

Good stuff :)

Visited here, like you say not a great deal & nothing too exciting but still worthwhile to pass a few hours.

That was a nice little find actually. I would have probably walked straight off the edge had I been alone :p

Fine report and excellent pictures...It looks like it literally has just been vacanted in places. Love the boots photos, focal length is right up my camera porn ally!

Good stuff and thankyou for sharing!

This was a great explore IMO. Was nice to see it hadn't been vandalised at all. In the kitchen there was still bottle of milk out, sugar, tea bags etc.
