I don't know if it's just me but I do an explore, start editing & uploading them, do another explore then move onto editing that one...... The outcome is a load of half sets of explores on Flickr.......

Decided to quickly finish these off today & then get the report up.

This place was a bit too new & modern for my tastes & not a hint of natural decay..... :( Still, it was fairly local & passed a few hours.

Full Flickr set HERE

Vencil Resil occupied this 7.1-acre site & factory, which produced building insulation products from expanded polystyrene & also made tiles, covings and mouldings for the civil engineering and DIY markets, which closed in the summer of 2009. The current site owners have recently applied to redevelop the site into resitential use.

Got just a couple more to resize & upload!!

Cheers :)

Just one intsy wintsy gripe... your report could do with a bit of history rather than just pix next time, but there's some good pix there anyway!

The place looks rather clean, not long abandoned methinx...?

Fair point. I'm currently trying to remember what the place was actually called as I saved it on the PC as 'VR'.....!!

Thanks though :)

Edit - Found!! But I can't edit the main thread title!!

At the moment the last time I made any proper use of photos was about 150 sites ago. There's been the odd few photos in that time that I've made use of but by large, they just gather dust on platters.

Nice set though! Thanks for having more exertion than I as far as editing goes ;)

Vencil Resil, whitecroft. Made insulation blocks for building industry, site closed after 2009 ecconmic and housing market downturn

Nice report and pics, the information HERE suggests you got in and documented it at the right time, don't think it's going to have a chance to decay and return to the wild. (The mention that the site was originally built in 1971 for 'The London Rubber Company' suggests that it might well have initially been a 'rubber Johnny' factory ;) )
