This is my second visit here, this is a big site with lots to see, there is a great history web site here; http://www.ngte.co.uk/home.htm
The Farnham airshow was on which was remarkable as this was the place where many jet engines were developed and tested. One minute it was silent with only the wind for company, then next the noise was deafening and everything was shaking.
I had previously visited cell 3 and 4 and cell 1,
this trip I wanted to see the Airhouse and to look further afield.
I did not have anyone with me, and I was alert as I made my ay among the buildings, with all sorts of tings walking and talking in the wind and the jets passing and turning low overhead it was a very edgy experience.
And it started raining.
Once inside the air-house at least it was quieter.
I was hearing pigeons and it seemed after a while that they were talking. In fact is was another group of explorers, which was a very pleasant meeting experience.
The scale of the machinery was dwarfing me, I spent an hour just walking through the equipment, then went to the crane for an overview.
Later I went on to the Plant house, there is a room in there called the cathedral, and I can see why. It is high in places in here, and it is rich environment for photography.
I wish I had taken a tripod with me now.
I left late afternoon, and by the time I got back to the car I was soaked and covered in mud, but very happy with a great explore. I still have only seen a small portion of this site and will have to make another date
