After a few days of research me and my mate decided to go and visit, a lot of fallen down buildings, unfortunately I had forgotten flash so ended up using tripod, we found the tunnels too but were running out of time so a re-visit is on the cards soon :)

I love this place and would be up for another trip....

The tunnels are one of my favourite derelict places in the UK, huge and totally fab.

The site is supposed to be turned into an NHS Super-Hospital but the buildings were demolished in an illegal way, nothing was sorted or removed they were just knocked down so when the council realised what was happening they put a stop to it and nothing has happened since. The amount of pollution there is in the ground too is another factor, the place would cost millions and millions to demolish and clean up.

I'm more surprised you got past the massive mount of scrap that has been plonked against the access point!!

Do you have a spirit level on that tripod?
