Anyone who knows me will tell you I am ever so slightly obsessed with this place . . . all I can really say is that it was at the top of the "to do" list for some considerable time . . . and when I finally got to go I wasn't disappointed, instead I just wanted to go back again . . . and again . . . and again.

With the local press reporting that the demo crews are soon to be moving in, came the urge to go again . . . but this time around I wanted to capture some of the detail that I know I had previously overlooked whilst photographing "the big stuff".

We were very fortunate to have a gorgeous sunny day . . . and watching the sun come up from within the Air House was fantastic!

I hope you enjoy looking at the photographs as much as I enjoyed taking them . . . and yes, I definitely still want more . . . :)

Ooooooh high praise indeed and very kind . . . thanks to all for the great comments, much appreciated :)

I think the detail in here often passes people by, simply because the place is so huge . . . it's so easy to walk into each of the buildings and focus on the really big stuff, as there is plenty of it . . . but as much as I still love looking at the big stuff and don't think I would ever grow tired of looking/climbing/exploring/photographing it, there are so many other things to see in each of the buildings . . . there are rows of offices in each and the control rooms, all still full of interesting stuff - documents, drawings, logbooks, old IT kit, parts, keys etc and personally I could spend a whole day in each building just looking in every nook and cranny.

I am a total Pye bore I know, but I wear my badge proudly! :)

Your shots are out of this world! Not many people capture or at least post the details so its great to see them especially hearing that she is going soon :(

Cheers for posting them up :)

It seems we have only weeks to get in there before demo starts in October, date TBA. That is a great set, I have seen the airhouse at many different times of the day but never at sun up, top shot. I find I am attracted to the small things myself, I was laughing when I saw the shot of the criminal ID spray in the plant house office, I wondered just how that had got there about ten seconds before secca came around the corner and we had to duck for cover. I am glad you have enjoyed this place as much as I have.
