Another solo, except this time i noticed i wasn't the only person on site... not sure whether these people were workers and the site was partially used, maybe security or demolition crews too... i decided to keep looking anyway but after they walked past me (whilst i was hiding) i decided to get out.

my attempt at a self portrait whilst hiding...

Unfortunately i didnt see it all due to the unforeseen complications... a re-visit is scheduled...

Thanks For looking :)

tap par into the search box and away you go

Ah, brilliant is it fully derelict? Also a question for all of you... yesterday we re-visited the site and as walking through the storage areas we noticed they were all fenced off with radiation hazard signs all over them. Any idea on why this is please comment...

dunno why but most of teh clay sites have the same sort of warning

yea, was slightly worried when we came across that, then a police helicopter started circling us. Following that two Police cars pulled up right in front of us and we were searched. was a slight relief when they said there were gunshots in the area and they were searching us for firearms :p. i guess we do kinda fit the description of some people shooting in the woods when we are covered in what looked like mud (~actually china clay) and we were also wearing DPMs and black...

China clay has high concentrations of natural radioactive isotopes which can be washed out and concentrated during processing.

I knew they were there but thought they were little or no risk in the short time spent nosing around the sites?
:)

There isn't but you know what H&S is like these days.

If it were at all dangerous it would be all over the papers and under very strict security.
