There have been one or two places that have been top of my UE to-do list for well over a year but lack of transport have made them difficult. Firmly at the top of that list is what I can only describe as the UK Mecca of industrial urbex. I have a particular affinity for big machinery, pipes and all things oily so I am chuffed to say that I was recently able to make a long-overdue visit to the National Gas Turbine Establishment (AKA Pyestock).
Although I cant go into detail, certain aspects of the security (actually, all of them) made getting inside a long-winded and difficult affair but we were very glad to finally get into the grounds and found our way into a number of the lesser photographed buildings. We had to eventually leave having only seen about 1/4 of the buildings so a revisit is in order I think - soon if demolition rumours are to be believed!
I decided to give my shots a vintage feel which I am sure will divide opinion but, if you want the same unedited shots there are dozens of other reports available covering that base. Now, on with the shots...
